Hamburg, 8 June 2020 – easol GmbH (easol), a joint venture by the third-party AIFM INTREAL and the IT service provider control.IT, has expanded its management team. Moving ahead, it will comprise three people rather than the previous two. Sebastian Runge (36) – previously at control.IT – is now the company’s new Managing Director. He will be in charge of the areas of project management, interfaces and bison.box. The current Director of Sales, Marko Broschinski, has also joined the management team. He will be responsible for sales plus the areas of key accounts, finance and administration. Runge and Broschinski will run the company together with the current Managing Director Markus Schmitt. Schmitt’s responsibilities comprise the cloud, infrastructure and SAP areas. As planned, Klaus Weinert has stepped down from management to focus on his role as the Managing Director of control.IT again.
New Managing Director Sebastian Runge commented: “easol is a young company and easol solution is an innovative product. I am delighted to have this chance to play a part in easol’s future success.” Runge already has comprehensive experience of IT projects for large real estate asset managers such as Patrizia, the HIH Group or KGAL. He will now be applying this valuable experience to the ongoing development of easol solution.
Marko Broschinski, now also a Managing Director at easol, has welcomed Runge to the company: “I am currently seeing strong demand on the market for our all-in-one IT solution. The coronavirus crisis is a driving factor in this development. I am exceedingly pleased by this boost to our management.”
Markus Schmitt, a co-Managing Director at easol, added: “easol is a fast-growing company – we have secured ten new software mandates in the first half of 2020. The assets under management (AuM) digitally mapped using easol solution have risen to around €40 billion. Thanks to his wide-ranging expertise in the field of IT for real assets, Sebastian Runge will provide optimal support for our continuing growth. Marko Broschinski has made a key contribution to building easol’s business in the past year. His new role as a Managing Director will allow him to perform his duties even more effectively.”
The departing Managing Director Klaus Weinert said of his time with the company: “easol has navigated its launch and its first growth steps with the utmost success, and is now an established player on the market. It has been a thrill for me to have been a part of this. Looking to the future, I will again be focusing fully on my duties as the Managing Director of control.IT.”
Before joining easol, Runge was the Head of Infrastructure and a member of the management team at control.IT. He played a key role in establishing the Schwerin location, which he also ran. He headed key projects, which included overseeing the implementation of fund planning at the HIH Group and establishing and implementing the later bisON.energy modules at KGAL.
Marko Broschinski has been the Director of Sales at easol since June 2019. The banking graduate and Master of Business Administration (Frankfurt School of Finance) had previously been a freelance business consultant for two years. Prior to this, his career included two years as the Regional Coordinator for East Africa/Country Director for Tanzania at Sparkassenstiftung für internationale Kooperation and 21 years at Bankhaus Carl F. Plump & CO AG, the last eight of which as a member of the Board of Directors.
easol was founded in June 2019 and offers an all-in-one IT solution, “easol solution”, for investments in real estate and other real assets such as aircraft, ships and photovoltaic plants. The components of easol solution are preconfigured for the requirements of fund providers and real asset managers, are fully integrated and have been tested thoroughly in practice. Assets with a volume of over €40 billion are currently managed using easol solution. Among these assets are properties belonging to the HIH Group, including INTREAL.
